Character history:

Eli is 200 years old, but lives in the body and mind of a 12 year old child, and as such mostly thinks as a 12 year old, despite her age. Eli was transformed by a vampire warlord who had overtaken the child's village and demanded "sacrifices" regularly. Eli was tortured and bled regularly, before finally becoming the creature of today, though she denies she's "...that" (a vampire). In order to get around in society, Eli has latched onto random adults so that they can appear to be her caretakers. The latest one was a male pedophile, and he took care of Eli in return for being allowed to lie beside her in bed, when he was especially good, which means he brought her some blood that night -- although she prefers he bring it in bottles to her, she is fully capable of going out and doing it herself. Eli has amassed quite a fortune over the years -- some of her property could buy a couple of nuclear power plants -- but all of it just sits in a decrepit apartment, while Eli and her caretaker occupy mattresses on their floors. Eli actually sleeps in the bathtub (in the movie, covered in cloth; in the book, submerged in a blood bath).

Recently, her caretaker died and she found herself with something of a kindred spirit, a kid who had been bullied and wanted to fight back and kill his bullies. His name is Oskar. He has become her new caretaker. They communicate via Morse code, knocking through the wooden chest she stays in during the day whilst they are travelling.

Physical description:

Eli has the look of a typical 12 year old girl: shoulder length wavy dark brown hair, pale skin, chooses to wear female childrens' clothing.

Magical powers or special skills: Eli can do all the following by merely thinking it: sharpen teeth (all of them) into fangs, transform fingers and toes into sharp talons (the better to climb trees), and create bat-wings which enable flight. (Whether I can use this stuff in the prison is up to you guys.) She also possesses above normal strength. She can be beaten to a literal pulp and still survive -- well, something of her will survive, but it won't be the pleasant.

Weaknesses (and this is very important): Eli absolutely has to be invited anywhere (we probably need to discuss this too!). Otherwise she bleeds profusely from every pore (see image above). We can work on this if it proves cumbersome. Also, she can NOT digest real food. She vomits. Finally, she is very susceptible to sunlight; she must keep every window in her flat covered, and she sleeps covered in blankets (or submerged in blood, depends) during the day, in a bathtub. She won't go up like a Roman candle immediately, but it is very painful. She can heal, but blood speeds the process. She is weak when she lets any blood out.

Any crimes committed in canon: Murder, and more murder. And then some more murder. Of the throat biting kind.
